Meet Chris Porter – the DCB Performance Manager |
| |
|
 |
I would like to take this
opportunity to introduce myself and explain my role within the
Derbyshire Cricket Board. I started working at the DCB on the 7th
April taking on the role of Performance Manager. Prior to this role I
was the Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket Development Manager. Over the
next couple of months I will be meeting all the DCB Working Groups, Sub
Committees and District Development Groups. Also I will be attending the
majority of the County Matches and selected District Matches.
My main role as Performance
Manager is to manage and be accountable for the integrated delivery of a
single long term strategic plan for Cricket across Derbyshire. With
regard to Player Development my role is to work with the Performance
Committee and the DCCC Academy Director to develop and sustain a high
quality Player-Centred Player Development Pathway. I will also be
working with the ECB Regional Development Managers to further develop
the DCB.
I see this as a great
opportunity for myself to be involved with one of the best Cricket
Boards within the Country. I hope to see you all during the summer
season via District Cricket Development Groups or County/ District/ Club
Matches. Please feel free to contact my via email

|
| Now for the rest
of the team |
| |
|
| Mick Glenn |
|
 |
Mick is the DCB Cricket Development
Manager. There is very little that Mick does not know with regard
to Club Development throughout Derbyshire. Mick is the first point
of contact for Clubs requiring information and support regarding Club
Development Planning, Clubmark, Grant Applications and the development
of Focus Clubs. Mick is also the main contact for Schools and
Clubs National Competitions, Coach Education and involvement in the
Development of Excellence of Women and Girls' cricket. |
| |
|
|
Greig Wright |
|
 |
Greig is the Community Development Officer. His
role involves working with Focus Clubs to ascertain their requirements
with regard to workforce development and coach education. Greig is
responsible for the delivery of the Community Coaching Programme
including Chance2Shine in schools. He plays a major role in the
Women and Girls Excellence Programme together with working with squads
and emerging players in the Development of Excellence Programme.
You will quite possibly meet him if you enrol on one of the coaching
courses as Greig is one of our coach education tutors. |
| |
|
|
Mat Dowman |
|
 |
Mat has been with the DCB for several years now. He
is a talented player and coach who is a valued member of the coaching
staff here. Mat works with the squads in the Development of
Excellence Programme, he is also a very popular Community Coach judging
by the feedback we get from clubs and schools. Another of Mat's
responsibilities is the delivery of the Performance Newsetter which he
produces at regular intervals throughout the year.
|
| |
|
Jacqui Hendrick |
|
 |
Jacqui is the DCB Administrator and is quite often the
first point of contact at the Board. She handles most of the
administration in all areas apart from the Community Programme and tries
to help members of the public with any queries they may have. One
of the main roles she undertakes is that of Fixture Secretary for boys
and girls of all ages. This involves fixture organisation,
communicating with Managers from home and away and organising venues.
Her latest role is the development of this website so she is typing
about herself now which is rather embarrassing. |

|
|
Don Wilkinson |
|
 |
Don has been with the DCB for almost as long as it has
been in existence. Although he has cut down on his work programme
these days he is still an integral part of the Board's administration
system - he pays our wages! If you have any queries regarding
finance Don is your man. He was a Squad Manager for ten years but has
decided to step down this season to pursue his role of Nutbrook CC
Junior Development Officer. |
