In my role as
Executive Manager, I have a broad and varied remit and will be
working hard to support and develop the excellent staff and board
members we have at the Derbyshire Cricket Board as well as looking
to develop relationships with existing and new partners around the
county. In the current financial climate there are plenty of
challenging times ahead, but I also see this as an exciting
opportunity to keep Derbyshire at the forefront of cricket
development in the country.

| Neil Birkitt |
|
 |
Hi, my name is Neil Birkitt: I have recently started
my role with the DCB as their Volunteer Coordinator. My role will
involve numerous tasks including helping clubs recruit, retain and
reward volunteers. Volunteers are the life blood of any club and
without them we would not be able to enjoy the game that we love so
passionately.
I got into volunteering whilst at the local sixth
form college by officiating at a local Triathlon for primary school
kids that was set up by steel giant Corus. I got the volunteering
bug and then went on to volunteer at the ICC World Twenty20 in
Nottingham during 2009 and the Tour of Britain cycle race at the
opening stage in 2009 which was held in Scunthorpe. I hope to meet
you all soon and look forward to helping clubs recruit volunteers
and making your club the best it can be.
