After a brief interlude it was then time for the emotional part of the evening with presentations being made to two Senior Players who had now played their final games for the County.

First up was Charlotte Horton, who had decided to retire from cricket after an illustrious County career. Rachel Hopkins stood up to talk about Charlotte's career, including her impressive batting figures, before she presented her with some gifts. Everyone wishes Charlotte the best in her retirement.

Then it was time for Rachel Hopkins, who after playing for Derbyshire since the age of 12, and also working for the Cricket Board for the last 2 years had decided to move onto pastures new up in the North East. Dave Moore made a short speech, detailing Rachel's impressive County statistics, before Gareth Marshall presented her with some gifts. Then finally the U17 Girls Squad, who Rachel had coached and mentored, came to the stage to present her with further gifts, including a signed card from the one and only "Jonny Bairstow". We all wish Rachel the best for her new life up in Durham.

A great evening with lots of laughter, and some tears, was a perfect way to celebrate another great season for Women and Girls Cricket in Derbyshire.
