Boys Kwik Finals

Denby Cricket Club were the hosts for the Boy`s Kwik Cricket finals on Monday 17th July. The format for the day was 3 groups of 3, with each team playing 2 fixtures. The winners of Group 1 would play the winners of group 2 in the first semi final and the winners of group 3 would contend against the best runner`s up throughout the 3 groups.

With the sun shining, the day got off to a great start with some great cricket being played, with each team looking to top their respective groups. Dale were the winners of group 1 after winning both of their fixtures, gaining 6 points from a possible 6. They were then allocated to play against Etwall as they were the deserved winners of group 2.

Group 3 winners were Arboretum and they were up against Hayfield in the second semi-final after Hayfield went through as best runners up with an average of 94.5.

The semi-finals got underway and it was clear that all students wanted to play for the gold medals, each and every one of the students being supportive and energetic in the field and thinking of the best ways to tally up their scores throughout their batting.

Semi-final one was won by Etwall after a great bowling performance and semi-final 2 was won by Arboretum. These 2 schools then took eachother on in the final and after a great bowling, batting and fielding performance it was Etwall that came out on top and recevied the gold medals and became the winners of the Boys Kwik Cricket Finals 2017, with Arboretum receiving the silver medals.
