DCB Cricket Development Coach

Derbyshire Cricket Board (“DCB”) is the Governing body for Cricket in the county and supports all aspects of recreational cricket. Our Vision is ‘To provide every person in Derbyshire with the opportunity to have a positive experience through cricket’.

We are currently looking to recruit a Cricket Development Coach to join the existing coaches and support the development team in delivering high quality professional cricket activities within our Schools and Community programmes. The successful candidate will have experience of working in cricket/sports coaching, developing core sporting activities and increasing the number of children and young people taking an interest in the game.

Candidates must demonstrate both team working skills and the ability to work unsupervised using their own initiative. You will be a self-starter with energy and enthusiasm together with good administration and organisational skills.

Nature and Scope of the Job

The DCB Cricket Development Coach is employed by Derbyshire Cricket Board Ltd to work with selected individuals and organisations in Derbyshire and will link directly to the DCB Strategy.

The main areas of responsibility for this role can be divided up as follows:

Chance to Shine/ Schools

Admin support and coaching delivery of Chance to Shine and DCB Schools programme

National Programmes

Delivery of All Stars and Dynamos school activity and support centre engagement and delivery

Inspiring Generations

Promote and implement the ECB Strategy, Inspiring Generations

Holiday Programmes

Support CCCO – Youth to coordinate and deliver the DCB Holiday Programme


Support the delivery of School and Club Competitions

Club Coaching

Coaching support to clubs through the DCB club development programme

Conditions of Employment:

Salary:                         £15,646.40 (Based on annualised hours of 1778 hours per year)

Expenses:                    40p per mile will be paid for travel to duties directly related to your work for the DCB as per the DCB expenses policy. This does not include travel to and from work

                Pension:                       Pension Scheme Available

Hours of work:            1778 hours per year to include work on evenings and weekends as well as during the day on weekdays as required.

Holiday:                       22 working days holiday per annum based on the contracted annualised hours, plus 8 public holidays.

If successful in your application you will be required to provide documentary evidence of your right to live and work in the United Kingdom prior to commencing employment.

The selected candidates will need to produce one recent work and one personal reference.

The appointment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check
