County Board Pitch Advisor Opportunity

Under the ECB Pitch Advisor Programme, County Boards are being given the opportunity to have a new trained pitch advisor.  I see this as a great opportunity to have additional expertise available to support clubs and other partners in a continued effort to improve cricket squares/grounds.  I am therefore keen to take advantage of this opportunity if at all possible.

Please click here to download a copy of the ECBCA Pitch Advisor Terms of Reference which provides further information on the role.

I would welcome expressions of interest by Monday, the 5th December at the latest.

I am also more than happy to have a discussion should further information be required.

Mick Glenn

History

Our Association is part of the Derbyshire Cricket Board and was formed in February 1999.

Aims

The Aims of the association are to support groundsmen at the grass roots level of the game.

Achievements

We meet four times a year, Spring, Summer, Autumn and again at our AGM.  Meetings are centred around the seasons and the work which is done at different times of the year.  There are talks by invited guests involved in cricket ground maintenance and new products and equipment available to help our members.

Benefits:

Courses

Our association in conjunction with 'The Institute of Groundsmanship' (I.O.G) run annual courses designed to help and understand the work involved in the preparation and maintenance of cricket grounds.  The cost of these courses is greatly reduced by joining the association, we also award a level of support funding for successful candidates.

Equipment

We have at our disposal two trailers containing all the necessary equipment to complete your end of season renovation work.  We also have a pitch mower available to anyone at short notice should their own break down, plus a walkover powered spraying machine.

Bulk Purchasing

We organise an annual bulk purchase and delivery scheme for cricket top dressing seed and fertiliser.

Sponsorship

We are involved locally with "Dennis Ground Maintenance Equipment" and "Boughton Turf Management" both companies support us with products and equipment demonstrations.
