 | Club Level - Much youth cricket is played at club
level in the shape of age group leagues. This provides the competitive
edge that is one measure of performance be that at team or personal
level. This is common to boys and girls. |
 | District Level - at Under 12/13 and at Under
14/15, clubs and schools recommend their promising boy players to the
DCB who in turn delegate the assessments at these age levels to the
District Development Groups for logistical reasons. Only the best
from the groups are then put through for assessment at County level.
Those selected by the Districts then form the basis of a District team
who play 6 matches over the summer months against the other 6 Districts
at the two age levels. |
 | County Level - boys squads are currently set up to
run from Under 10 to Under 17 and girls squads from Under 13 to Under 17
with the probability of an Under 11 girls squad being introduced (see
Derbyshire Girls U11's). Matches are played against other
Counties. The very best of these squads are recommended into the
higher performance group of either the mini-academy or the Academy,
where much more personalised performance coaching and mentoring is
undertaken. |
