Match report, Derbyshire Disabled CC vs Yorkshire Disabled, 30/5/10 The LD/PD 1st XI beat Yorkshire by 6 wickets on Sunday 30th May at Nutbrook CC. On a sunny day at Nutbrook, with a strong breeze blowing across the ground, Derbyshire won the toss and put Yorkshire in to bat. Adam Darkins got Derbyshire off to a good started by bowling Donville in the first over. Solid batting from Jervis established a base for Yorkshire although Derbyshire kept the pressure up by taking wickets. Fine batting from Dickinson (58*) saw Yorkshire to 139 for nine wickets off their 40 overs. Darkins was the pick of the bowlers with 3-20 off his 8 overs. He was supported well by Martin Taylor (1-11) and the other bowlers, on what was a tricky day for bowling due to the strong wind. Derbyshire thus needed 3.5 runs per over for victory. The first 20 overs were negotiated for the loss of Darkins so that at drinks after 20 overs the score was 63 for one. Good bowling from Nowaz kept Yorkshire in the contest. George Dutton batted well for his 58 runs until he was unfortunately run out. Mick Hopkins saw Derbyshire home with over 3 overs to spare with his excellently compiled 40 not out. This second win of the season puts Derbyshire on 50 points and puts them on top of the league table at this early stage of the season.
