DCB Aim and Objectives  

The Board shall promote the game of cricket at all levels, and particularly among young people, through partnership and involvement of the professional and recreational cricketing bodies, clubs and other appropriate agencies within the county of Derbyshire. 

Involvement and participation in DCBs’ activities shall be open to all irrespective of age, gender, disability, race, ethnic origin, creed, colour, social status and sexual orientation.                 

The Board shall: 

    be a member of the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and exercise and fulfil all rights and responsibilities arising therefrom: 

    recognise the responsibilities of the Derbyshire County Cricket Club in respect of the professional game and those other organisations responsible for recreational cricket: 

        administer and co-ordinate the strategy and cricket development plan for Derbyshire, ensuring proper and equitable resources are allocated as necessary to provide the maximum benefit at all levels and branches of the game: 

   provide a forum where all associated bodies can contribute to the furtherance and improvement of cricket in Derbyshire: 

    recognise and direct resources to those branches of cricket which warrant additional encouragement: 

    co-ordinate, where possible, the activities of cricketing bodies within Derbyshire, develop adequate communications and ensure that the best possible use is made of the available resources: 

    represent Derbyshire in the formulation of National and Regional cricketing policies and the implementation thereof within the County: 

    prioritise the implementation within Derbyshire of the various aspects of the National Development Plan: 

        pursue a Child Welfare policy to ensure that all young people who play cricket can do so in a safe and positive environment: 

    support and implement where necessary the ECB Code of Conduct for players, officials and others associated with the game.
