MCC ‘Spirit of Cricket’ U13/ ECB U15 National Club Championships 2010
Wednesday 24th June 2009 ASDA Kwik Cricket Finals at Denby CC The Schools Kwik Cricket Finals were held at Denby CC on Friday, the 19th June. Ten teams, who were each winners of their respective Districts, competed making a total of 100 plus children playing cricket. The atmosphere was very lively due to the excellent support of family and friends.
Dale emerged as Derbyshire Schools Kwik Cricket champions after an excellent day's tournament at Denby CC on Friday. Unbeaten throughout the day, Dale clinched a last-ball victory in their semi-final against Rosliston and went on to defeat Chesterfield's Old Hall Junior School in the final. Dale will be Derbyshire's representative in the East Midlands Regional Final of the ASDA National Inter-Schools Kwik Cricket competition.
The team received trophies presented by Derbyshire CCC’s first team player Stuart Law. ASDA are the National sponsors of the Kwik Cricket Tournament and their staff were on hand to give out fruit and drinks to the players. Our thanks go to ASDA for sponsoring the event and to Denby CC for hosting a wonderful afternoon of cricket.
