Howard Dytham

Howard is the Head of Development at the County Ground, to recognise his combined role of ‘heading up’ the Derbyshire Cricket Board as well as fulfilling the role of Academy Director for Derbyshire County Cricket Club.  He has worked for the DCB for over 12 years and is responsible, along with the other professional members of staff and key volunteers, for the delivery of the plan for recreational cricket across Derbyshire. Howard is also a Level 4 coach and has many years experience in this area, working with players from Fundamentals level right through to the Derbyshire Academy

Mike Stones

In recent years my role on the Executive Committee of the DCB has been that of Chairman of the Performance Committee. The latter body deals with the playing of all cricket in the county outside of the professional game with particular focus upon county junior squads, district cricket, the mini-academy and emerging players schemes, cricket coaching and coach education in addition to umpiring and scoring. A big territory! Previous to that I had specific responsibility for the Development of Excellence and was closely involved in the county’s programme for that beginning in the pre-academy days. At that time I also served for several years as an elected member on the committee of Derbyshire County Cricket Club. I have managed and coached DCB U17 sides from the early 1980s until 2009 as in earlier days I was a Staff Coach to the National Cricket Association. I have also served as Chairman of the Association of Cricket Coaches in the county and oversaw its successful integration into the DCB.

Mick Glenn

Mick has worked for the Derbyshire Cricket Board since July 2004 when he was appointed as Club Cricket Development Officer.  Prior to his appointment he was already deeply involved in the cricket community combining a passion for the game with a career in the building and construction industry. Volunteer experiences initially at club level evolved into a broader range of interest through Junior and Senior Leagues, Cricket Development Groups and the DCB.  This experience proved valuable when a life long love became a full time job. Mick’s principle responsibilities are in the Club Cricket Development Department working closely with clubs, Cricket Development Groups and many other partners in support of the recreational game. Mick’s intimate knowledge of cricket in Derbyshire together with his day to day involvement has played an important part as the DCB has extended its activity over recent years.

Peter Gibson

Peter holds the position of Finance Manager for the Derbyshire Cricket Board & has been in post two years ago following the retirement of Niven Roper. With a background in accounts & as a Company Director Peter’s expertise has been helpful as the Cricket Board changed status to become a Company Limited by Guarantee. Peter has been involved in cricket for many years & is a familiar figure at clubs through umpiring in the Derbyshire Premier & the Derbyshire County Leagues.

Dave Bull

Dave is a Charted Engineer working in the Rail Industry where he has over 35 years experience. He is Chairman of the Club Development Committee / South Derbyshire Cricket Development Group and a Nominated Officer for ECB Clubmark. Dave’s other cricket roles include Commercial Manager and coach at Elvaston CC. Dave’s main attributes are as a leader, councillor and motivator with a grass root attitude towards cricket. His achievements include leading Elvaston to be the first Club in the Country to be Clubmark accredited and subsequent reaccreditation on two occasions. Dave was a winner at the very first ECB OSCA’s and has subsequently led South Derbyshire Cricket Development Group to being one of the most highly thought of and proactive Development Groups in the Country.

Chris Park

Chris is a solicitor and has practised as such in Derbyshire for almost 30 years.  He currently works in Matlock where he specialises mainly in Family Law. He has been involved in local cricket for a number of years and ran a Junior Club in the Derbyshire Dales, operating a variety of roles as Administrator, Manager, Coach and indeed Chairman over many seasons.  He was also a member of a District Development Group.  He still plays socially and at the time of writing is Captain of his Club’s Sunday Team. Chris is married with 3 children, all now grown up or virtually so and all of whom have participated in cricket.  His other social passion, apart from cricket is all things Italian; visiting the Country when he can and speaking the language reasonably proficiently.

John Sookias

John’s ties with Derbyshire cricket go back to his schooldays at Repton.  “My earliest influences came from Eric Marsh and Mike Stones.  They taught me to respect and enjoy the game.  I am pleased that I can now share some of this with others.“ John holds an ECB Coach Award, has spent five years as a Club Junior Co-ordinator and has run County junior squads since 2008. John has also spent twenty years in industry in a variety of sales & marketing and general management positions.
