Derbyshire U17 Boys at Durham

Derbyshire U17 Boys at Durham

Chima 100A brilliant unbeaten century from Anoop Chima was not enough for the DCB U17s as they lost to Durham U17s by 8 wickets. Anoop hit 14 fours and 4 sixes in the 143* of 139 balls. He was well supported by Mitch wagstaff who hit his first fifty for the U17s. Derbyshire total of 267 for 5 looked a good one, however our seamers struggle a little at the start to keep the Durham batsman from playing freely and getting past our score with the loss of 2 wickets. Hopefully we can learn from this game and make a few improvements and start winning games.

Support UsAs a not-for-profit organisation, we rely on the support of companies to help us to continue developing recreational cricket from school ground to county ground.

We believe that cricket is not an elitist sport and much of our work is providing cricket coaching to schools across Derbyshire as well as working with over 120 cricket clubs across the county. A large focus for the 2015 season is to encourage adult participation as well as continuing our player pathway that helps children and adults develop their cricket to the best of their ability (which includes our Development of Excellence Programme), plus the training of coaches and officials.
